January PR, Marketing and Press Events in Colorado

As everyone is throwing themselves into work right now – or still recovering from the holidays –many organizations are taking a brief break from events in January. However, there are still a few promising events to kick off the new year and get you excited about your career path in 2018!

PRSA Colorado

Last year provided a lot of fodder for Gil Rudawsky’s annual “PR Hits and Misses” event. Rudawksy of Denver-based GroundFloor Media take a tongue-in-cheek look at the year’s biggest PR studs and duds on Jan. 17 at the PPA Event Center. Tickets start at $40. Register here.

General Assembly

General Assembly Denver is hosting a free panel, Digital Marketing Trends of 2018, on Jan. 31 at its brand-new space in the Industry Rino Station. The panel will discuss predicted trends for this year, lessons learned from 2017, Generation Z marketing and more. Panelists include Visit Denver Social Media Manager Emily Sievert and Karsh Hagan Associate Media Director Nikki Baker.

Denver Press Club

The Denver Press Club has multiple events during January to warm you up via beer, network and assist freelancers.

The Club is hosting an all-things beer discussion at the Club on Jan. 25. Gary Valliere and Jonathan Shikes, co-hosts of Colorado Beer Radio on AM 760, will discuss Colorado’s oldest brewery Tivoli, the birth of taprooms, award-winning Dry Dock brewery and more. The tasting gets you six beers for $12 for Club members and costs $15 for non-members.

The Club’s new series of freelancer-oriented programming and social opportunities kicks off with special educational panel on Jan. 29. “The taxing situation of freelancing” will discuss how to do your taxes as a freelancer with a panel of public accounts and business advisors. The event will be held at the club and is free.

February is full of events, so make sure to check out the MYPR blog next month for a roundup!
