This week, we are starting a new blog series called “Three Things to Know” that will range from client updates to the unusual. We’ll share interesting fun facts, trend information or simply things we think you might want to know about the week ahead. Here we go…
1. Optimal Length of Vacation. Scientists have unlocked the key to the perfect length of vacation. According to an article on the Conde Nast Traveler website, “A study out of Finland’s University of Tampere that analyzed 54 people’s trips found that while longer trips didn’t necessarily increase post-vacation bliss, in-the-moment happiness levels peaked on day eight of vacation.” Translation? A trip that’s longer than a week – even by a day – means a better, overall experience for travelers.
2. Denver’s Booming Hotel Market. The Visit Denver website notes that, “downtown is home to 10,000 rooms (by the end of 2017) within a short distance of the Colorado Convention Center and 45,000 first-class hotel rooms in the greater metro area.” At least two hotels are still slated to open by the end of the year including Moxy Denver Cherry Creek and The Ramble Hotel. More openings are planned for 2018 including the 1,500-room Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center, The Source Hotel, the dual-branded Le Meridien/AC Hotels Denver Downtown and The Jacquard in Cherry Creek North.
3. One America Appeal. Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria devastated Texas, Florida and the Caribbean over the last two months. Our five living former American Presidents have come together to encourage support of recovery efforts in these regions. Please visit the One America Appeal website to donate.
